Foggy Run

January 13th (Tuesday) - Just some shots of the misty beauty around me from my run today.  Marathon training is in full swing.

Odds and Ends

When I was looking through Instagram, I noticed that Jessica had posted this picture of Mark and Dantley so I took a screenshot of it because I wanted to have a copy of it :)  They must have taken this the Sunday before Christmas when we were at Natasha's basketball game.

On Monday, January 5th Tamsyn came straight home and did her homework.  Willow climbs up on the table and hangs out right beside her.  It is pretty cute!  Willow just went to the vet for her first time on Friday, January 2nd.  The last time we tried to take her she saw the cat carrier and hid.  She hid so well that we couldn't find her for several hours and had to cancel her bet appointment!  This time we locked her in the bathroom so she couldn't do it again.  The day after I took this picture Tamsyn had to stay home from school because she threw up a couple of times in the night. :(

On Sunday, January 4th all the kids made Thank You cards for Christmas gifts.  Natasha made these really cool cards with different origami animals on each one.  I had to take a picture before cramming them into the envelopes to mail because I thought they were so cute.

On Friday, January 9th Natasha had her orthodontist appointment to get her braces on. She did really well and seems to be adjusting quickly.  I know they are cutting up her lips a bit, but she doesn't really complain and just puts a bit of wax on or has Jake help her.

Dantley wanted toget in on the exciting new teeth action too!

G-6 Airpark

Friday, January 2nd

Over break the kids helped around the house and earned money for different chores.  They earned bonuses if they worked together or if they figured out things that needed to be done on their own.

Their goal was to earn $11 each so that we could go to G-6 Airpark in Vancouver.  G-6 is an indoor play area filled with trampolines.  It has a section where you can do tricks into a foam pit, another section for dodgeball, and another section with a basketball hoop.  Natasha invited her friend Katie to come with us. I decided to jump with the kids and Thurston and I did flips into the foam pits together.  I took a video of Natasha and Thurston doing it as well.  We also played a few rounds of dodgeball and Dantley followed Katie around like a puppy. All the kids had a blast and were sad when the hour was up.

Flipzles Color Your Own Prototype

I like to keep track of dates for my puzzles so if I ever need to know them for any reason I have them.

This prototype has been a long time in the making because we were so worried about getting the Nativity and Dino Flipzles shipment it ended up getting put on the back burner.  Finally we received it on January 2nd.  The factory sent markers and colored pencils to try with it.  It is hard to make a decision about whether or not to order the puzzles with the markers or not, because of how much it changes the cost.  I like the idea of kids having more than a few colors to work with, or even using colored pencils and markers when they decorate their own, but it is not practical to include both because they come from different suppliers and the cost goes up too quickly.

When this puzzle arrived all of the kids wanted to color it.  I love it when they are all interested and excited about the new designs.
