Chicks!

The chicks hatches over a period of a few days.  Only about half of the eggs we had in the incubator hatched.  Many of the eggs didn't even have a growing chick in them (we checked with a light) and a few of them didn't fully develop.  I was surprised at how long it takes them to get out of the shell.  At first I was worried that I would need to assist a little bit because I had read online that sometimes if they take over so many hours they need a bit of help.  It was fun to keep checking the incubator to see if more eggs had pipped and move the new chicks out once they fluffed up.
