August 5th & 6th - Seaside

My parents arrived on August 4th and then on the 5th we picked Jake up from his office in Longview and headed to Seaside.



Grandma helped the kids build a sand city.



August 6 -Jake and Tasha got up early to go for a run.  The rest of us went down to the beach and looked for whole sand dollars.  We found a few interesting things along with a few whole sand dollars.

 





After breakfast we rented a swan paddle boat and took turns with the kids.


We then checked out of our hotel and went back to the beach.  We built a big castle together and pretended that the beach wasn't as crowded as it was.


This was the garden Tamsyn made outside of the castle walls.
After we had our fill of sand and cold beach sun we loaded up and headed home.
My mom and dad stayed a few more days and went golfing in Portland. Mom also showed us how to make fruit leather and brought some apples that we made into applesauce.
