Summer Vacation - July 9, Zion National Park - Emerald Pools Trail and the Narrows
We decided to get up early to beat the crowd into Zion - We found a parking spot this time by one of the shuttle stops and headed up the canyon. We decided to do a few short hikes before going into the water in the narrows where we knew it would be colder earlier in the morning. We hiked to the Emerald Pools and then followed a trail that led us back to the bridge at the bottom of the Angel's Landing trail.
Tamsyn and I ended up way behind the others because we were stopping to take so many pictures.
The Narrows is an amazing hike. It starts out super crowded but thins as you head back. When we came to a fork we took the right path and ended up finding some beautiful little waterfalls and getting very wet. I looked it up later and believe this detour we took was up Orderville Canyon.
Dantley came out with a few extra holes in his pants. We figured we hiked 8 to 10 miles today and the kids loved almost every minute of it.
