Summer Vacation - July 5, Mesa Verde

We drove from Moab to Mesa Verde - where we stayed in the National Park lodging- the Far View Lodge. It is the same place Dantley and I stayed when we went to Mesa Verde a few years ago.  The above pictures Tasha took along the drive.

Lunch today was Tamsyn's turn to throw a fit.  She is not a fan of Subway and made sure that we all didn't forget it.

Spruce Tree House (the self guided tour has been closed due to falling rock, so we only got to see it at a distance)

We loved how cool all the yucca plants looked and Tamsyn, who is always fascinated by edible plants and useful plants was especially interested in it.

Square Tower House

Dantley and I took a photo here last time we were here -- so we tried to recreate it -- without much luck.

Tour of Balcony House- we signed up for the last tour of the day so that no one would be coming through behind us and we could get some clear photos without the next tour group in them.  It paid off.  We got some really great shots.

Detail of decorative wall painting remains

For dinner we ate at the Far View Terrace and tried the Navajo tacos -- supposedly they are really delicious -- we thought they were pretty good, but nowhere near the hype.
