Track - April and May 2016

Tasha had a great year in Track.  She started training before the season started because she knew that in order to break the school record she would need to go into the season in shape.  According to Athletic.net the school record was 5:40 -- but for some reason the coaches had it written down as 5:31.  When Tasha asked about it, they looked into it and realized that they didn't have any record of what meet that time was run at, but had times from every single school meet for the girl who had it, and the fastest was 5:40 - so they realized it was a mistake and that the record was 5:40.

Natasha got closer and closer and finally beat it at the district meet.  She also cleared the bar in high jump.  The year before she tried and tried and never once cleared the bar, so that was exciting to see her persistence pay off.

She usually got first or second in the 800 and the 1600 for eight grade.  The district meet included both 7th and 8th graders competing against each other.  She was ranked 4th in the 1600 based on previous times and ended up getting 3rd.  The top three girls ran a great race and all three of them got personal records.

The day of the district meet -May 18th, was pajama day in Thurston's class at school and we showed up at the meet a bit early because I had the time wrong, so we decided to run to target so he wouldn't have to be in his PJ's the entire meet.  This is the outfit I bought him.
